KnoMi is a platform designed to help people connect in a more intentional way before choosing whether to share personal contact details. In this policy, “KnoMi”, “we”, “our”, and “us” refer to the operators of the KnoMi website and mobile application.

5. User Control

  • You may leave a connection at any time, subject to any feature limitations within the app.
  • Once you share personal details with another user, that information may no longer be under KnoMi’s control.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain records, resolve disputes, enforce our terms, comply with legal obligations, and support safety and abuse prevention. We may delete, aggregate, or anonymise certain information when it is no longer needed.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information. These steps may include access controls, authentication measures, monitoring, secure infrastructure, and encryption where appropriate. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Analytics and Service Providers

Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the KnoMi website and app.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using KnoMi, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should not use the website or app.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use KnoMi.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating and maintaining your account.
  • You may not use KnoMi if doing so would violate applicable law.

3. Nature of the Service

KnoMi provides a platform for intentional user connections, structured interaction, and limited sharing of personal details between users. KnoMi does not guarantee compatibility, outcomes, meetings, relationships, or user behaviour.

4. Account and User Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and access to your device.
  • You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account, unless caused by our breach of security obligations.
  • You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

5. Acceptable Use

  • Post unlawful, abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, misleading, or otherwise inappropriate content.
  • Use KnoMi to spam, scrape, reverse engineer, disrupt, or abuse the platform.

6. Connections and Sharing of Details

  • Connections may be time-limited according to the product design in effect at the time.
  • You may choose whether to share personal details such as your phone number.
  • Once you share your details with another user, further interaction may occur outside KnoMi and is at your own discretion and risk.
  • You may leave or discontinue participation in a connection at any time where the platform permits.

7. Content and Licence

You retain ownership of content you submit, upload, or post through KnoMi. By submitting content, you grant KnoMi a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and process that content as reasonably necessary to operate, improve, secure, and promote the service.

8. Moderation and Enforcement

We may review reports, investigate misuse, and take action where appropriate. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts, remove content, or limit access where we reasonably believe there has been a breach of these Terms, a safety risk, or unlawful conduct.

9. Intellectual Property

The KnoMi name, branding, interface, website, app, and related materials are owned by or licensed to us unless otherwise stated. Except as allowed by law, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or exploit any part of the service without permission.

10. Disclaimers

KnoMi is provided on an as is and as available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for every purpose.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, KnoMi and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses arising out of user interactions, use of the platform, shared personal details, or events that occur outside the platform.

12. Termination

You may stop using KnoMi at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the service where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect users, enforce these Terms, investigate abuse, or comply with legal obligations.

13. Changes to the Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on the website or in the app with a new effective date. Continued use of KnoMi after updates may constitute acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
